In simple Google Authorship Markup is service of google+ which show your Google+ information right into your website search result with your image and info.

Ways to get Google Authorship:

Google has explained us 2 ways to get google authorship. But as Wordpress is so powerful platform to hold thousands of plugins, we have many plugins to get our work done.

Method 1 : Google way

I alreadly told you guys that google had given us 2 ways to get authorship.

First way is to first make Google+ profile which is must thing and will be used in all methods.

After making Google+ profile go to Google Authorship Page and sing in to your Google account and enter your email address which is made on the same domain of your website.

Email on same domain means like my site domain is so that I have to enter the email which is made on this domain as .

After registering your email, google will send you a verification mail to your email address .

After verification you can go to your Google+ profile and check in your about profile section your domain is automatically added to Contributor section.

Now just go to Structured Data Testing Tool and enter your domain and you will see that your Google+ photo is still not in snippet. Just don’t worry, just below your snippet there is a box named Author. enter your google+ profile there and see the magic.

Second way is when you don’t have email as on your domain. Google had given solution for that too.

  1. Create a link to your Google+ profile from your webpage, like this:
      <a href="[profile_url]?rel=author">Google</a>

Replace [profile_url] with the your Google+ profile URL, like this:

      <a href="

Your link must contain the ?rel=author parameter. If it’s missing, Google won’t be able to associate your content with your Google+ profile.

  2. Add a reciprocal link back from your profile to the site(s) you just updated.
    1. Edit the Contributor To section.
    2. In the dialog that appears, click Add custom link, and then enter the website URL.
    3. If you want, click the drop-down list to specify who can see the link.
    4. Click Save.
  3. To see what author data Google can extract from your page, use the structured data testing tool.

Method 2: Using plugins

OK I will suggest you guys to use this method as this is very easy and hazel free.

There are many plugins and they all work fine. Like Google Authorship, WP Google Authorship, Authorship for Thesis and many more.

If you are a Yoast SEO user then you don’t have to use any plugins as Yoast SEO includes Google Authorship option and it is much easier than anything else.
